We are looking for an Account Manager to join our Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sales team in our New York office. This is an exciting opportunity for a polished solution-based sales professional who is ambitious and performance-oriented. In addition to be being an exceptional individual sales performer, the ideal candidate will possess general knowledge and interest in market research principles and disciplines.

This position is responsible for managing and enriching account relationships within a defined territory across Mintel’s core CPG syndicated internet deliverable products. This position will also be responsible for business growth in our Custom Solutions research space. The focus of this position will be on-site account management designed to increase Mintel’s presence within each account. Excellent product communication, networking, relationship development, product support, customer service, and up-selling skills are required.

 

What You Will Do:

  • Maintain and grow existing account relationships within an assigned territory using excellent communication skills, strong follow-up and sharp attention to detail
  • Negotiate and close contracts and deliver industry leading renewal rates
  • Leverage client relationships to grow key accounts by securing additional products or services to achieve a targeted portfolio
  • Identify new champions within organizations to increase revenue streams
  • Network throughout assigned accounts by leveraging contacts throughout client org structures
  • Utilize the successful and proven sales processes and tools currently being employed across the organization to facilitate effective and successful client relationships and renewals
  • Create territory and account level business plans specific to assigned portfolio
  • Deliver creative business solutions to prove ROI on a monthly or quarterly basis to aid in the renewal process
  • Become a product expert across all Mintel CPG products and services
  • Deliver accurate forecasts to sales management
  • Effectively utilize Mintel’s sales database CRM system (Salesforce.com)
  • Consistently deliver exceptional sales results against target
  • Have a can do attitude, with a desire to roll your sleeves up - getting involved at all levels of the business as required

 

 What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proven consultative sales experience: CPG experience a plus
  • Knowledge of primary market research methodologies is strongly preferred
  • Highly polished, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills
  • Strong account management and business development background, with proven financial success in expanding client relationships and maximizing account potential
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to understand how clients use, leverage, and apply market intelligence to their critical business growth strategies
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time
