Description

Mintel seeks to hire an Account Manager to join our Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sales team in our New York City office. This is an exciting opportunity for a polished solution-based sales professional who is ambitious and performance-oriented. In addition to be being an exceptional highly-driven individual sales performer, the ideal candidate will possess general knowledge and interest in market research principles and disciplines.

This position is responsible for managing and enriching account relationships within an East-coast territory across Mintel’s core CPG syndicated internet deliverable products. This position will also be responsible for business growth in our Mintel Consulting Solutions research space. The focus of this position will be on-site account management designed to increase Mintel’s presence within each account. Excellent internal and client-facing communication, networking, relationship development, product articulation and support, customer service, and consultative up-selling skills are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and grow existing account relationships within an assigned territory using excellent communication skills, strong follow-up and sharp attention to detail
  • Negotiate and close contracts and deliver industry leading renewal rates
  • Leverage client relationships and playback client goals/objectives to grow key accounts by securing additional products or services to achieve a targeted portfolio
  • Network throughout assigned accounts by leveraging contacts throughout client organizational structures
  • Identify new champions within organizations to increase revenue streams
  • Fully adopt and utilize the success-proven sales processes and tools currently being employed across the organization to facilitate effective and revenue-generating client relationships and renewals
  • Create territory and account level business plans specific to assigned portfolio
  • Deliver creative business solutions to prove ROI on a monthly and quarterly basis to aid in the renewal process
  • Become a product expert across all Mintel CPG products and services
  • Deliver accurate forecasts to sales management through open and honest communication
  • Effectively utilize Mintel’s sales database CRM system (Salesforce)
  • Consistently deliver exceptional sales results against target
  • Travel 50% of the time
  • Have a high-horsepower drive for excellence with a can-do attitude, with a desire to roll your sleeves up - getting involved at all levels of the business as required
  • Have the ability to multi-task and prioritize

 Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of proven consultative sales experience: CPG/FMCG experience a plus
  • Knowledge of primary market research methodologies is strongly preferred
  • Highly polished, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills
  • Strong account management and business development background with proven financial success in expanding client relationships and maximizing account potential
