Mintel is currently working with over 500 universities in the US, Europe and Canada to help provide their students and faculty with objective insights on a wide variety of markets, consumer groups and market issues. The research brings them up-to-date with the very latest expert opinions, issues and solutions.

This exciting opportunity is for a results-driven sales professional with experience prospecting and establishing business-to-business relationships. In addition to excelling as an outstanding individual sales performer, the ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and act as a team player that wants to maximize his or her contribution to the team’s success.


What You Will Be Doing:

  • Selling new business and creating a strategy to target prospective universities in the US and Canada
  • Maintaining and growing existing account relationships within the College and University portfolio using excellent communication skills, strong follow-up and sharp attention to detail
  • Delivering exceptional sales results against quarterly targets
  • Conducting phone training sessions with new and existing users and assisting clients in obtaining valuable information from our products
  • Negotiating contracts to expand existing relationships through increased contract values and multi-year commitments
  • Maintaining an excellent renewal rate for existing customers
  • Developing territory and account level plans specific to your portfolio of accounts
  • Becoming a product expert across all of Mintel ‘s products and services


What We Are Looking For:

  • Minimum of 2 years in a solutions-based sales role, ideally focusing on the academic sector
  • Experience with marketing, market research, Academic industry, CPG industry is a plus
  • Experience prospecting and targeting new potential clients
  • Ability to travel 25-50% or as needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills
  • Highly polished, professional and consultative selling style
  • Strong work ethic and highly driven to succeed
