Data Quality Analyst

Description

Mintel is looking for an experienced Data Quality Analyst to join the dynamic Chicago team.  The Data Quality Analyst will maintain the integrity of our data and produce accurate & timely reports to deliver findings. This person will audit and analyze multiple proprietary databases to create tangible solutions that meet quality initiatives. 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Monitor the quality of data received from vendors and deliver the appropriate feedback to the vendor as necessary
  • Manage the data quality feedback loop so that all issues are corrected at the source in a timely manner and all stakeholders are aware of any issues
    • Analyze issues and provide the vendors with feedback for all issues
    • Ensure that all aspects of the data correction are occurring and data quality is improving
    • If necessary, escalate recurring vendor issues to the vendor manager
    • Work with the QC Director to improve auditor training, if necessary
  • Proactively strive to improve data quality and processes for multiple products by sharing information with Quality Control and Product Development teams, as needed
  • Work with the Product Development team and the QC Director to roll out new information to the vendors and the Mintel quality control team
  • Proactively investigate potential data quality issues, provide solutions and implement the solutions to improve quality
  • Work with the QC team to complete audits of the various Comperemedia sectors, analyze findings and identify next steps for improvement
  • Effectively document all data changes and updates
  • Train the various teams on any quality issues or discrepancies that arise
  • Present all findings to the QC Director

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 - 5 years experience with analysis and problem solving techniques
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Ability to understand complex processes
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze multiple sets of data

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
