The Regional Human Resource Manager will lead the HR function for Mintel’s Americas region, leading the development, attraction, and retention of key talent in alignment with our business strategy. This role will act as a key coach and advisor to senior business leaders within their region, as well as leading a team of 3 direct reports supporting employees in 3 locations across the North American Region.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Work with the Global SVP of HR to develop the key HR objectives and talent strategy
  • Identify key legal trends which may impact the business and recommend solutions for consideration by the business leadership
  • Provide guidance and direction to the talent acquisition team to source and staff a diverse workforce, and ensure a positive on-boarding experience
  • Oversee and own Mintel’s benefits program, company policies, new employee orientation, and compliance with federal and state employment laws as it relates to the employee full life cycle.
  • Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend changes and improvements
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits
  • Oversee the new employee orientation process
  • Lead HR investigations and ensure appropriate outcomes and follow-up
  • Serve as advisor and coach to business leaders and managers around people management and development
  • Develop and lead compliance and performance management training initiatives
  • Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements
  • Stay abreast of legislation to assess industry trends
  • Assist with preparation of the human resource budget with the SVP of Human Resources
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates
  • Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination
  • Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positions
  • Develop or administer special projects in areas such as charitable donations, and employee awards
  • Investigate and report on incidents for insurance carriers

 

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; major in Industrial/Labor Relations, Human Resources Management, Psychology, or other related field preferred
  • Master's degree in Business Administration or Human Resources Management preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience within Human Resources
  • At least 7 years of managerial experience
  • Minimum 5 years of full cycle recruitment experience
  • Proven experience leading HR initiatives with a strong project management orientation
  • Experience supporting employees spread across multiple geographical locations
  • Experience managing payroll and HRIS systems
  • Understanding of, and some experience with, most or all of the core aspects of Human Resource Management
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous business conditions
  • Strong expertise in developing solutions based upon facts/data analytics
  • Strong MS Office Skills with advanced-level proficiency in Excel
  • Verifiable track record of success partnering with management and serving as a credible resource
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Unwavering commitment to service and quality
  • Ability to demonstrate business acumen; intellectually curious about organizational systems and structures, business strategies; and informed about emerging industry trends
  • Previous talent management and succession planning experience preferred
