eCommerce is changing the way consumers shop for everything from food to fashion. We are looking for a strong manager to lead a team of Analysts in producing industry-leading content across categories. In this role, you will use your expertise in the sector along with your critical thinking skills to develop and enhance the quality of all work produced by the team. You will not only challenge your team to think outside of the box, but you’ll also help our clients challenge the way they look at the retail landscape as a whole.

 

About You:

  • You are passionate and knowledgeable about Retail, well-versed in market innovators and disruptors, and able to predict emerging trends in the industry – in store, online, and direct to consumer
  • You are adept at translating patterns in data to forward-looking, visually engaging, insightful content
  • You are a proven team leader that is looking to continuously push yourself and your team to further develop and enhance existing products and services

 

What You Will Do:

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of Analysts
  • Create insightful, relevant syndicated analysis of the offline and online Retail industry
  • Translate data (consumer, market, retailer, manufacturer) to actionable insights and forward-looking analyses, and coach your team to do the same in all of their written content and client activity
  • Edit and elevate data-driven research and content while helping your team identify key market trends and analyze data holistically
  • Be the lead Mintel spokesperson in the Retail sector and coaching your team to serve as subject matter experts  for their specific areas of focus within the industry
  • Build strong relationships with a wide range of colleagues across the company
  • Manage your team’s schedule and research calendar

 

What We Are Looking For:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in a relevant research, marketing, shopper or consumer insights, branding or consulting role dedicated to retail/eCommerce
  • Strong leadership abilities, with a minimum of 3-5 years management experience
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills – confident and comfortable speaking to clients via phone, webinar, and in-person presentations
  • A talent for seeing the patterns behind data, and understanding what these patterns mean from a business standpoint
  • Expertise in consumer research – designing consumer research studies to address key issues and translating the findings into actionable insights
  • Experience working with syndicated sales data, such as IRI or Nielsen
  • Experience working with syndicated consumer research such as Simmons National Consumer Survey or MRI
  • Ability to multi-task and handle the details while keeping an eye on the big picture
