We are in search of an experienced research and market analyst with expertise in the travel industry to create relevant, thoughtful, comprehensive market reports. The analyst will be proactive, conscientious, solutions-oriented, curious, and take the initiative to ensure the success of their deliverables.  You will apply your travel industry knowledge and critical thinking to both qualitative and quantitative research and will join a team of analysts dedicated to delivering compelling syndicated reports to a wide range of the world’s largest and most creative companies.

The Travel Analyst works as part of a team of Analysts, sharing ideas and insight, while taking ownership of the Travel sector. Main responsibilities include developing research objectives and consumer surveys, researching, writing Reports, presenting findings to clients, handling client queries, and working with Mintel’s sales and marketing/PR teams.

What You Will Do:

Insight generation and analysis:

  • Create insightful, relevant analysis of the travel industry sectors that include consumer, market, companies/providers and/or distributor insights and perspective, as well as marketing strategies
  • Evaluate industry and key players in the context of economic, consumer, and social trends
  • Develop quantitative and qualitative consumer surveys, turning consumer research findings, market data, and industry knowledge into actionable insights, providing critical thinking and forward looking statements that impact our clients’ business
  • Employ a wide range of research tools, including primary and secondary sources, including Mintel’s direct marketing database, alongside consumer research

Relationship building:

  • Interact with a wide variety of clients ranging from small marketing agencies to multi-national corporations and industry players
  • Provide insight directly to clients around key trends, new developments impacting the market and consumer response, in-person, over the phone, and through webinars
  • Work collaboratively across teams and across functions within the organization

 

What We Are Looking For:

  • three to five years of experience working in the travel or hospitality industry, preferably in a research, marketing, branding, or consulting role
  • Expert knowledge of travel industry trends, key players and disruptions impacting the industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Expertise in developing research objectives and designing consumer research to meet objectives
  • Strong understanding of consumer research data, a talent for seeing the patterns behind data, and communicating what these patterns mean from a business standpoint
  • Proactive client-centric approach to identifying problems creating solutions toward product development
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and oral
  • Demonstrated presentation skills for large audiences and individual clients
  • Expertise working with syndicated consumer research such as Simmons National Consumer Survey or MRI
  • Expertise working in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel up to 5-10% of the time
