As a Chicago-based Product Manager at Mintel, you will provide management and leadership in the development and launch of the latest product in Mintel’s Comperemedia portfolio. You’ll engage end users and identify critical needs to create a prioritized development roadmap and product strategy. You'll work with a variety of teams across the business including sales, research, operations, marketing, software engineering and design. You are driven, inquisitive and agile. You understand how to prioritize and can break down complex problems into steps that drive action and deliver results. You are a skilled communicator and have mastered the ability to ask the right questions to identify and solve for the most important problems. You have strong project management and analytical capabilities. As a Product Manager at Mintel, you’re a key part of Mintel’s global product management team and will have the opportunity to contribute to the shaping of Mintel’s ongoing growth strategy.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Ensure the successful launch of Mintel Comperemedia’s newest product
  • Work closely with sales, research and client development to identify product and market opportunities, client needs and satisfaction levels
  • Lead a Voice of the Customer program to understand customer applications, objectives, challenges and identify new development opportunities; regular exposure to users and occasional travel
  • Use data and insight gathered to drive strategic decision making, refine the product strategy and define requirements
  • Manage feedback and competing priorities
  • In partnership with sales leadership, develop business plans including market size analysis and profitability projections for new product offerings
  • Manage product development process from idea generation to delivery. This includes assessing needs, creating comprehensive product specifications, building and managing project plans, testing new developments and leading cross-functional project teams
  • Manage new product development on a daily basis – including ongoing prioritization of issues, change requests and new feature requests
  • Cultivate and manage strong working relationships with the software engineering team to ensure needs are met and deadlines are observed
  • Identify, vet and analyze potential partner companies in collaboration with a cross-functional team
  • Regular presentation of progress and recommendations to a variety of audiences including executive, global product development and end users
  • Partner with sales, marketing and research to develop and deliver excellent communication plans for all product launches, changes and improvements
  • Organize and lead cross-functional task force teams and meetings to ensure all key product and project objectives are identified, detailed and managed on an ongoing basis

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of product management or relevant experience in a related field
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment under pressure, adhere to deadlines, deliver high-quality results and manage competing demands
  • Demonstrated skill in listening, learning and empathizing with end users
  • Proven experience with user and client communication management, demonstrated ability to facilitate customer-facing conversations and facilitate effective feedback
  • Strength in resolving conflicts and negotiating for optimal outcomes while simultaneously taking a confident stand to solving problems
  • Experience with or knowledge of agile product development methodologies
  • Aptitude for presenting and facilitating meetings at top management level
  • Experience with the digital marketing and advertising industry a plus
  • Solid technical skills, including familiarity with MS Office, experience with the Atlassian product suite a plus
