We are in search of an experienced consumer research and market analyst with automotive expertise to join the Reports team. In this role, you will use your industry knowledge and critical thinking skills to develop quantitative and qualitative research plans, analyze consumer and market data, and write insightful syndicated research reports. The automotive analyst will have in-depth knowledge of consumer and car shopper behavior.

About You:

  • You are passionate and knowledgeable about the automotive industry, well-versed in market innovators and disruptors, and able to predict emerging trends in the industry
  • You are adept at translating patterns in data to forward-looking, visually engaging, insightful content
  • You are always looking for ways to develop and enhance existing products and services

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Write 10 reports a year covering the automotive industry identifying the key issues in the market
  • Create insightful, relevant syndicated analysis of the auto industry, from an industry and consumer behavior perspective
  • Translate data (consumer, market, dealer, manufacturer) to actionable insights and forward-looking analyses
  • Identify key market trends and analyze data holistically, and consult with clients on these trends
  • Build strong relationships with a wide range of colleagues across the company
  • Develop quantitative consumer surveys and qualitative exercises (eg discussion panels, car shopping missions, etc.) to meet research objectives
  • Most of the day-to-day work will involve business writing as the analyst is responsible for the full report from defining the report scope, identifying key issues, designing consumer research, conducting trade interviews, analyzing data through to producing the final report

What We Are Looking For:

  • At least 3 years of experience gained from working in, with, or writing about the auto industry
  • Knowledge of technology industry trends, key players, and disruptions having an impact
  • Aptitude/experience with developing research objectives and designing consumer research to meet objectives
  • Strong understanding of consumer research data
  • A talent for seeing the patterns behind data, and communicating what these mean from a business standpoint
  • Ability to analyze multiple data sets and write bold, concise, insightful, forward-looking analysis
  • Ability to interact and engage with clients
